AFDEC established its Operations and Compliance Group in Q307. It is our opinion that Operations Management and Compliance with legislation are directly linked hence we have formed a single group. The aim of the group is to extend industry best practice, for operations and compliance procedures, by directly involving the relevant senior management personnel at electronic component manufacturers and their distribution partners.
In June 08 the Operations and Compliance Group appointed the following team to manage the group:
Jeff Baldry – Operations Manager – Microchip (UK) Ltd - Chairman
John Hewitt – Compliance Officer – Arrow Northern Europe – Vice President
Kevin Roberts – Trade Operations and Compliance Manager – Future Electronics – Vice President

The group have successfully identified a number of areas for action including:
Legislation – Authorised Economic Operator – HMRC
Operations – New Industry Standard Packaging to Reduce Cost
Operations – Introduction of RFID Tracking
Legislation – Combating Counterfeiting
A quarterly Operations and Compliance “News Bulletin” is available for all AFDEC members.
