CODE OF CONDUCT FOR afdec DISTRIBUTOR MEMBERS

The aim of this code is to demonstrate to customers that those members complying with it will be able to offer their customers:-

  1. Security of supply.
  2. Access to franchised stocks of adequate depth and breadth.
  3. Technical and commercial product knowledge, backed up by the original manufacturer.
  4. Products purchased from and warranted by original manufacturer.
afdec CODE OF CONDUCT

A. All afdec member companies shall be assumed to be offering for sale product acquired directly from their franchised principals unless specifically agreed with the principal.

A principal requires its franchise holder:-

  1. To stock in sufficient depth to satisfy small to medium volume orders and sufficient breadth to satisfy customer’s development requirements.
  2. To be adequately financed and have systems necessary to service customer’s orders.
  3. To have an adequate technical and commercial knowledge to satisfy customer’s requirements.

B. All afdec members must have:-

  1. Held a franchise to distribute electronic components for more than 2 years.
  2. Sales of franchised product of over £500,000 p.a.
  3. Stock holding of franchised product in excess of £100,000.
  4. Maintain an adequate gross margin on sales of franchised product to support inventory and service.
