Members Qualifications

In order to qualify for afdec membership, a distributor must meet certain financial criteria and adhere to a defined code of conduct.  When a manufacturer franchises a distributor he will have examined the organisation and have decided that the distributor is best suited to sell his product and provide customer service.  Further, when dealing with a franchised distributor the customer can be confident of the full support of the manufacturer which may not be the case if he buys through an unofficial channel.  In today's market place equipment manufacturers need professional and viable suppliers - afdec distributors meet this need in every respect.

Applicants are advised to read the afdec byelaws before deciding which category is appropriate.

Sustaining Members

The sustaining members of afdec are largely suppliers to our distributor members or other interested trade associations. We believe strongly that providing a common forum enables the various parts of the supply chain to work at its most effective level.

This grade of membership provides any company who has an interest in the industry with access to all the regular information published by afdec, such as monthly statistics, forecasts, networking dinners, benchmark reports etc. The only benefit not available to sustaining members is election to the Council of afdec, which is reserved for representatives from distributors.

You can see an up-to-date list of sustaining members by clicking here.
